Fast-track Your Career

fast-track your career

If your plan is to consistently and quickly climb higher on the career ladder, here are 4 key points on how to achieve it.

1. When making your next move, do it from a position of power, meaning; let’s say you have just hit a major milestone in your current position such as successfully completing a huge project on time  or hit (and exceeded) a ridiculously high KPI.
2. Always keep an ear out for opportunities with current employer, a new project, opening of a new division/branch, diversifying, facing problems – offer to get involved by either putting your hand up to run the new project or by contributing in any way possible, even if all you do is make a couple of phone calls or suggest an idea or make photocopies, no matter how small the task, being involved in new projects can be just what you need to get to the next level and open a door to a higher position, learn a new skill or widen your networking circle.
3. Widen your search, i.e. Most people who have quickly advanced to a management position did it by taking a position with a new employer, sometimes this involves moving to a different city or country.
4. Create a killer CV, highlighting your skills and how they were applied in the projects you were involved in, rather than a standard timeline.

I guarantee if you follow these 4 simple steps, you’ll get where you want to go much faster.
Wish you all the best!
